Ammonia Removal Technology

NH3-STRIPPER process is based on the principle of mass transfer.
Air is a carrier gas and ammonia gas in the wastewater move to the air through
wastewater spraying within the NH3-STRIPPER.
At the result, ammonia is removed from wastewater.
The physically degassed ammonia gas is absorbed
and removed from the NH3-Scrubber in form of Ammonium Salt.

Applicable industry

Treated Water from Digester

Landfill leachate

Ammonium fluoride wastewater

Metal Smelting Industry

[Patent] The system & equipment for treating wastewater which contain ammonia

Principle of removal of ammonia.

The presence of ammonia in wastewater exists in two forms,
ammonium ion and ammonia gas, depending on the pH and temperature.

NH4+ + OH- → NH3(g) + H2O

Physical degassing is possible when ammonia in wastewater is converted into ammonia gas form.

Characteristic
of NH3-STRIPPER

Suitable for high-concentration ammonium wastewater that is difficult to treat in biological treatment

The constant efficiency and simple operation due to physical treatment

The reasonable operation cost compare with biological and chemical treatment

NH4+ + NaOH → NH3(g) + Na+ + H2O

NH3(g) + H2O → NH4OH

2NH4OH + H2SO4 → (NH4)2SO4 + 2H2O
